I’m Back!

This blog is back up and running after a lengthy hiatus due to this site being hacked while writing a new book. Before I jump into new material, here’s a rundown of what’s new.

– My new book, iPad Kickstart, is completed and off to McGraw-Hill for page layout and printing. The book will be released in early August and covers the key features of the third-generation iPad and introduces you to a bevy of new apps to make your life more organized, more entertaining and less stressful.

– Kevin Kelly rocked my world (again) with his presentation on 6 Words for the Modern Internet. If you’re involved in content creation, publishing or just curious about where this crazy trip is headed, you owe it to yourself to check it out.

– New Software Releases: Adobe Creative Suite 6 is jam-packed with new goodness to boost your creativity, help you work faster and publish your content everywhere. This summer, I’ll be spending time highlighting the best new features for agile photographers and help you orient your workflow toward multi-channel publishing. Also in the category of new software releases, Autodesk released a pre-release extended trial version of Autodesk Smoke 2013 for Mac. I have to admit, I’m quite curious about having an editor, VFX and finishing package all wrapped into one application. I’m downloading the trial right now and look forward to giving it a try.

It feels good to be back up and running again and I’m looking forward to sharing accumulated ideas, insights tips and tricks with you over the coming weeks.

  1. How have you experiances been with OM-D E5M? pro and cons?

  2. Chris, yes, I’ve been shooting with the OM-D EM-5 for about 6 weeks now and love the camera. The image quality is fantastic, the body is ruggedly constructed without being weighty and I find the ergonomics to be very good. I’ve been shooting mostly with 1/2 of the accessory grip and like the extra handle this provides. Downsides? The on/off switch is hard to find. Accessing full manual controls in video is a little counterintuitive. Aside from those minor points, I really haven’t found any downsides.
Fellow Visionary David Wells and I are going to have a Google + Hangout or UStream live discussion on the OM-D camera. I’ll have more info here on the blog as soon as we set a date. I hope you’ll join!
